SAM CHEESEMAN (Sir Andrew Aguecheek) is a recent graduate of the University of Northern Colorado currently pursuing his acting career in Chicago. He is thrilled to be making his second appearance with Midsommer Flight – he was last seen playing the titular character in Midsommer’s summer 2017 production of Hamlet. You can also catch him touring Shakespeare to schools with The Shakespeare All-Stars. And when he isn’t doing THAT you can find him serving tables, drinking beers, and watching Tom Brady throw many touchdowns. ANNA CIVIK (Valentine and others) is thrilled be making her Midsommer Flight debut! Other Chicago credits include Bechdel Fest at Broken Nose Theatre, Wrinkle in Time (Meg u/s) at Lifeline, and Charred (Caroline) at Jackalope Theatre, as well as Hair, Aunt Dan and Lemon, and As You Like It, among others at Northwestern University, where she is a recent graduate of the theatre program.
KRISTIN HAMMARGREN (Olivia) is happy to make her Chicago debut with Midsommer Flight. She recently returned to the city after several years on the road performing and teaching Shakespeare with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Other professional work includes, Intermountain Opera, Forward Theater, Door Shakespeare, Madison Opera, Optimist Theatre, and In Tandem Theatre. She holds an MFA in Acting from UW-Madison and works as a teaching artist with Writers Theatre and the Beverly Art Center. LAKECIA HARRIS (Viola) is so happy to be making her Midsommer debut with Twelfth Night. A native of Chicago’s south side and graduate of Ball State University BFA Acting program, she is excited to rediscover her roots in Shakespeare. Her previous credits include Haymarket: An Anarchists’ Songbook (Underscore), Marie Antoinette U/S for DePolignac & LamBalle (Steppenwolf), and A Wonder in My Soul U/S for Paulinia & Normal Beverly. She would like to thank her family and friends for their constant support and love.
SUMMER HOFFORD (Officer 2 and others) has worked extensively in and around Chicago since graduating from Loyola University Chicago in 2015. She’s worked at companies such as Northlight Theatre, Citadel Theatre, Underscore Theatre Company, MCL, and Artists Giving Back. A proud graduate of the School at Steppenwolf, Summer has also performed in several cabarets around the city, most recently a self-produced cabaret at Davenport’s entitled “Merrily We Stumble Along”, with Ryan Hamman and Brian Locke.
AMY MALCOM (Malvolio) is thrilled to be joining Midsommer Flight on this production! Favorite past credits include: Pericles (Muse of Fire), Comedy of Errors (Commission Theatre Co.), Julius Caesar (Brown Paper Box Co.), A Christmas Carol and Charlotte’s Web (Drury Lane) Happy Now? (Milwaukee Repertory Theatre) among others. Amy has also worked at Arc Theatre, Lifeline Theatre, First Folio, Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, Creede Repertory Theatre and is a 2015 School at Steppenwolf graduate. HALIE MERRILL (Officer 1 and others) is delighted to be working with Midsommer Flight! Merrill earned her BFA in Classical Acting at Southern Utah University, where her favorite productions were Dancing at Lughnasa (Agnes), Xanadu (Kira), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Helena), and Hamlet (Hamlet). She has worked professionally with Utah Shakespeare Festival in South Pacific, Amadeus, and The Greenshow (Ensemble), The Neil Simon Festival in Star Spangled Girl (Sophie) and Laughter on the 23rd Floor (Carol), and was most recently seen in Nameless Mountains (Mandy) with Accomplice Theatre Co. in Chicago.
IAN MICHAEL MINH (Duke Orsino) is a Midsommer Flight artistic ensemble member and appeared in both of the company’s previous productions of Twelfth Night, as well as summertime productions of Hamlet and As You Like It. Other Chicago credits include Romeo & Juliet (Teatro Vista); The Last Dance, Shadow Boy (Commedia Beauregard); Coriolanus (Commission Theatre), and Art (Parlor Room Players). He is represented by BMG Talent.
ELIZABETH RENTRO (Feste and Music Director) is the Resident Music Director of Midsommer Flight and has recently been seen in several of their productions including Twelfth Night, As You Like It, Macbeth, and Much Ado. Other local credits include Much Ado about Nothing (Muse of Fire), You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Open Door Rep), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Promethean Theatre Ensemble), and will be seen in the new musical We the People this winter (Flying Elephant Productions). Elizabeth holds an MFA from the American Shakespeare Center in association with Mary Baldwin University as well as a BA in English from the University of Texas.
SHAINA SCHROOTEN (Fabian and others) is so thrilled to be joining the Midsommer Flight team on this one! Some favorite Chicago credits include For One, Farewell My Friend, and 50 Shades of Shakespeare with (re)discover theatre where she is a company member; The Snare with Jackalope Theatre Company; Troilus and Cressida with Backroom Shakespeare Project. JOE SERGIO (Antonio) a New York Native, was last seen as Laertes in Midsommer Flight’s Hamlet and is excited to be back for Twelfth Night! Past Credits: Reginald: From Baltimore to Billionaire (Shelter Studios; NYC), As You Like It (Long Island Shakespeare Festival), A Funny Thing Happened…Forum (Venice Theatre), and Hair; directed by Ben Vereen (Venice Theatre).
JULIAN “JOOLZ” STROOP (Sebastian) is honored to join Midsommer Flight for another adventure. You may have seen them on stage recently in Robin Hood and Maid Marian with Strawdog Theatre Company. JEREMY THOMPSON (Sir Toby Belch) is in his third season with Midsommer Flight, having played Antonio in Twelfth Night last year and Banquo in Macbeth in 2015. Other Chicago theaters Jeremy has worked at include Commission Theatre and Polarity Ensemble Theatre. Regionally, Jeremy has done seasons at Great River Shakespeare Festival in Minnesota, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and Island Shakespeare Festival in Washington State. He has an MFA from the University of Idaho.
ROBIN WAISANEN (Maria) is a Midsommer Flight ensemble member and has stage managed As You Like It, Twelfth Night, and Hamlet with the company. Robin hails from the Bay Area, CA and holds a B.F.A. in Performance from Southern Oregon University. Robin has played Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Tamora, Nurse, Emilia, and Ursula, as well as Elmire in Tartuffe, Amiga Gringa in In The Blood, The Skriker in The Skriker, and Edith in The Metal Children. Robin is glad to be working in a company, a show, and a role for which she cares deeply.
DYLAN S. ROBERTS (Director) is an independent director living in Chicago. He is also is the Co-Founder of the Framework Theatre Collective. With the Framework, he has adapted King Lear as a Radio Play and a modern retelling of Antigone, which he also directed. Dylan also directed Twelfth Night and The Marriage Proposal: A One Act in Three Acts with the collective. Other professional directing credits include the world premieres of Spores of Eden by Peter Axel Komistra, Unpronounceable by Karl Gfall and newly adapted versions of Twelfth Night and Oedipus the King for Two Weeks Productions. In addition, Dylan has past worked at Metropolis Performing Arts Center where he directed Private Lives by Noel Coward and worked on A Christmas Carol for three years. He has been a company member with Midsommer Flight since 2013. Dylan proudly graduated with a degree in directing and theatre arts from the University of Wisconsin at Parkside.
CHAD BAY (Assistant Director) is thrilled to spend a second winter with Midsommer Flight! He is a Chicago-based theatre maker with interests in acting, directing, dramaturgy, design and pretty much everything else that makes a production come to life for an audience. In Chicago, he has worked with 20% Theatre Chicago, Pegasus Players, Pride Films & Plays, Three Cat Productions, Crowded Tub Collective, Compass Creative Dramatics, and is co-founder of The Framework with Dylan S. Roberts. Regional credits include two summers with Riverside Theatre in Iowa City. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
CAMILLE OSWALD (Stage Manager) is excited to spend the winter with the cast of Twelfth Night. She has recently graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, where she studied Dramatic Arts and Women’s and Gender Studies. Camille has trained with the Hangar Theatre Lab Company in 2015, and she devised and performed an original show, Half Light, that was a part of the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2016, winning the First Fortnight Award.
MEREDITH ERNST (Text Coach) is a proud company member of The Flight, and after spending the past two winters in Illyria, she’s very excited to help this year’s cast of Twelfth Night find their sea legs. Some of her favorite roles have included a princess, a bastard, and a couple of different twins, but more recently, she has found herself on the other side of the table. SHAWN QUINLAN (Costume Designer) is first and foremost a musical theatre performer. He has recently completed projects as a freelance costumer with Pride Films &Plays, The Comrades, Piven Theatre, Circle Theatre, Open Door Rep, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Co, and Genesis Theatricals. He has also served as freelance stylist for several Chicagoland/Indiana/Michigan organizations and individuals for special events. CHRIS SMITH (Violence Designer) is Midsommer Flight’s Resident Fight Choreographer who was born and raised in Chicago. Chris has been studying and practicing stage Combat for over a decade. He is extremely proud to have been a part of Midsommer Flight since the company came together, and has loved working with this group of talented artists both on and off Stage. Chris’ most recent fight projects have been Midsommer flight’s production of Hamlet this summer, and The Factory Theater’s Fight City. Chris couldn’t be happier to be back choreographing the fights for Twelfth Night and couldn’t ask for a better partner in life or fight choreography than Maureen.
MAUREEN YASKO (Violence Designer) is an Actor, Fight Choreographer, and Yoga Teacher based in Chicago. She is overjoyed to be working with Midsommer Flight on Twelfth Night after having appeared as Fabian/Musician and assisting with fight choreography the past two years. Maureen is an Artistic Associate of Babes With Blades Theatre Company, a Company Member of A Crew of Patches, and an Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD. Her most recent Fight Choreography projects have been Hamlet (Midsommer Flight) and Fight City (The Factory Theater) with her most amazing partner, Chris Smith.
KANOMÉ JONES (Associate Producer & Casting Director) has absolutely loved working with Midsommer Flight these past few years as an performer and now, as a staff member. She was last seen in Building the Wall (Stage Left Theatre) and has performed as Olivia in the 2015 and 2016 Midsommer Flight production of Twelfth Night. Other Chicago credits include The Firestorm (Stage Left Theater), The Book Club Play (16t Street Theatre, u/s performed) Titus Andronicus (Babes with Blades Theatre Company) and many short plays and original works with various companies. Kanomé is the Casting Director for Strawdog Theatre and an ensemble member of Stage Left Theatre. She also completed the acting apprenticeship at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Outside of theatre, she is a NASM certified personal trainer at Spindle Fitness and is a proud BFA Acting graduate of Missouri State University.
BETH WOLF (Producing Artistic Director) is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Midsommer Flight. Beth’s directing credits include As You Like It, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Midsommer Flight; LIAR!, which won first place in the 2012 City Lit Art of Adaptation Festival; Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead, Black Magic: An Evening of Shakespeare, Seascape with Sharks and Dancer, Bury the Dead, The Fantasticks, and Shakespeare in the Garden (Promethean Theatre Ensemble). Additionally, she has directed for festivals, staged readings, and assistant directed with companies all around Chicago, including Remy Bumppo, the side project, City Lit Theater, Polarity Ensemble Theatre, and more. Beth is also a co-founder and the former Artistic Director of Promethean Theatre Ensemble. She is a proud Northwestern University graduate with a double major in theatre and gender studies.
